Professor Wole Soyinka has confirmed that he will keep his word and tear his green card, on the day Donald Trump is sworn in as the 45th president of the USA. Soyinka made the vow last week, while giving a speech to students of Oxford University in England.
According to the literary icon:
“If in the unlikely event he does win, the first thing he’ll do is to say [that] all green-card holders must reapply to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that. “The moment they announce his victory, I will cut my green card myself and start packing up.”
Trump won the US presidential election early this morning in an incredible victory that has shocked pundits and observers all around the world for the first time since the results of the elections were announced.
Reacting to Trumps victory in an interview with The Interview Magazine, Soyinka said;
“Come January 20, 2017, watch my WOLEXIT! (Donald Trump will be sworn-in as the 45th President of the United States of America on Friday, January 20, 2017.”
